The importance of singing in Early Years.

So why is it so important to sing with your child?

Nursery rhymes are crucial for your child's language development. It is when hearing those first songs the children learn their first words and tune into sounds.

Did you know that being able to hear rhyme and rhythm in words is an important skill that your child must learn before they start learning about phonics? This is why nursery rhymes are great, because, as the name indicates, they are full of rhymes.

When you are singing with your child you really are doing far more than that - you are helping them develop their early literacy skills! So keep that singing going.
